Last Saturday , the 19th March , saw The ‘Rocks venture once more to Sauchie , and the renowned Oakwood Lounge.
This fine establishment has a long and well deserved reputation for bringing live music to the people , and The MoonRocks have had the honour to play there on a few occasions before. This time , the excellent Craig Stewart invited us along once more , and it was mighty. Craig is a man who really knows his music , and it was a blast both to play for and to shoot the breeze with such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic host.
The regulars stuck around to enjoy the sounds , and The ‘Rocks were in fine fettle , with the new P.A (Maui LD ,for you techies out there) continuing to impress with its wonderful clarity and ability to make Leftys vocals sound quite unlike the feeble feedback-laden mouse flatulence that they used to resemble.
Speaking of vocals , Lenny continued his bid for world-domination from behind the kit , putting out a singing performance of some brilliance whilst delivering his usual percussive hot sauce.
Jonny gave a cooler interpretation of his guitar wizardry on this occasion , but it had some really tasty solo work therein (Rockin in the Free World being just one of several standouts).
It suited the venue perfectly , and went down a storm. A great night for the band , and a pleasure to see Craig and the folks at The Oakwood again. We will hopefully be back in early summer and already can’t wait .
Thank you Mr Stewart , and your first rate venue and punters. Until next time boys ‘n’ girls…it could get , well , LOUD.
